Solution

1. Introduction

As I progressed, gaining knowledge about the variegated aspects of strategic people management, I learnt about the role of the managers responsible for nurturing and retaining the human resources amidst any kind of organisational situations which interested me further to reflect how on my learnings. Uni Assignment Help, Therefore, I would engage in discussions that would delineate topics like the nature of the organisation, the role of the management, how challenges are faced and mitigated, organisational power and politics, as well as the need for motivation and communication in an organisation.

2. Analysing The Different Aspects of The Module Covered So Far

First, when I got acquainted with the nature of the organisation, I came to know that every organisation have different culture, norms, and structure that defines the nature of the organisation. I was hitherto unaware of the fact that the nature of the organisation could be different from one another; rather, I thought that every business functions in the same way that is delivering the organisational services effectively. Furthermore, the observations of Pieterse & Ebrahim (2016), helped me in understanding that the employees and the authorities who are concerned with the organisation must have the competency to adapt to the nature of the organisation which might remain same or change. In addition to this, I got acquainted with the fact that the role of the management is quintessential for the wellbeing and welfare of the organisational members. Even the role of management lies in its necessity to cater to the demands, needs, expectations, and desires as well as the grievances and issues of the employees so as to evade the scope of the organisational conflicts and misunderstanding (Diamantidis & Chatzoglou, 2019). Taking a cue from the words of Abd Rahman et al. (2013), I could evidence my understanding of the role of the management that ranges from selecting, hiring, training, development, and retaining the employees effectively to assuring that the management forges a friendly and endearing working environment in the workplace. Furthermore, the concerned authorities are also accountable to make the employees competent enough to navigate across the challenges collectively. I reflected that as a manager in future, I should also try to foster and retain the enthusiasm of the employees even in the tough and challenging situations to keep the business afloat and preserve the morale of employees.

In the course, the topic that was on motivation enabled me in assessing that how various tactics can be used by the HR to motivate the employees in a workforce through incorporation of the motivational strategies. It becomes easier for a manager to make the employees work in the right direction and in an enthusiastic manner when they are motivated from within as they stimulated to foster their utmost potentialities and proficiencies out of self-actualisation of their capabilities. This happens when all the basic and growth needs of the employees get fulfilled as per the theory of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (Uysal, Aydemir & Genc 2017).

From the study of Kelmendi (2017), it has also been identified that motivation is a key element of business success. However, the lesson related to this topic has enabled me in assessing the way one should perform during the time of excessive workload and crisis. On the other hand, the topic related to communication has enabled me in determining the ways one must communicate with their senior management and also with the subordinate. Which type of language need to use in which situation.

Furthermore, I understood and could evidence through the words of Mullins Laurie (2013), that if the process of communication gets distorted, then the flow of information becomes broken, which on the other hand can come up with negative results. The use of effective communication in the workplace is inevitable, and it is essential to understand the different people who are related to that process.

Again, the study topic of power and politics within the business has enabled me in determining the position that each stakeholder holds. This has further enabled me to understand how they must be contacted and how their decisions can deeply impact the work progress within a business. Therefore, the topics that were discussed in class has not only enabled me in acknowledging their importance at the different organisational level, but at the same time, it has even guided me in honing the skills that I need to perform accurately while being in a workplace.

3. Conclusion

Therefore, from the aforementioned discussions, I could evidentially state that I have been enriched personally with the newly acquired knowledge that would enable me to enhance my knowledge acquisition further in the course of the module, helping me to excel academically. Moreover, my realisation and understanding of the integral importance of people management for an organisation deepened my outlook and perceptions about how to deal with human resources. This would shape my professional behaviour and underpin my activities in the future if I’m designated in the position of managing human resources.
